October 2009 at the Jessica Murphy Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament.
Below - Don Murphy and Jackie at the sponsorship sign in honor of Daniel.
Our foursome finished 3 under par, and we were happy with that!

April '09: Mom & Charley have had 16 kids (baby goats) this spring!
Carly is an Oil Markets Editor, and lives in Gaithersburg. Our next big
event is a WEDDING at the farm - our daughter Jessica is getting married to a
wonderful young man on June 6th!

CARLY'S GRADUATION - SUMA CUM LAUDE - FROM UNCW.......5/10/08
I know how proud Daniel is of you....

10/28/07 - JT and Charley hung Daniel's big star high above the roof of
the house. Most passers-by will think it's a Christmas decoration, but it's really a symbol for Daniel. AND the big news...Charley got a
memorial tattoo for you Daniel - check it out!

September 2007: Carly is a SENIOR this year at UNCW!! And Rina is
in grad school at Boston University!
May 2007: Carly will be home later this month!! We move her back
to UNCW on June 2nd. In April ~ Charley and I went to visit her in Wales,
England and Scotland. Later in April I met Carly in Paris for a long
weekend. Carly will turn 21 this month. I'm working in AT&T's
Baltimore office and loving my job. Still going to Compassionate Friends
meetings to work through my grief for my wonderful son.
January 2007: Still missing you Dan and
thinking of you every moment of every day. Carly is in Wales studying
abroad for the semester - poor thing - no Grey's Anatomy, no TV at all, no low
carb meal options...but she is a trooper! She is learning a new culture
and making new friends. I am now up to 22 goats!!! I had 11 babies
in one week this month, and I'm bottle feeding two of them.
Love and peace to all.
It's been a long hard
year, but we've made it through by remembering the joy that Daniel brought to
our lives. On Daniel's 21st birthday, 6/11/06, we put a cross at the
accident site and had a picnic at our house.
Carly is doing great at UNC-W in her own apartment
and plans to study in Wales for the spring 2007 semester. Her GPA would
make Daniel jealous - but at least we can say she actually works for her grades
as opposed to Daniel who always seemed to excel without opening a book.
The goat farm is in full swing - McKenzie Ridge Farm started with 5 goats only a
couple weeks before Daniel's accident and we now have 17. I'm working for
AT&T by day and tending to goats in the evenings and weekends. They are SO
cute. And, my dad and Charley help me out a lot.
Hope you and yours are doing well. God bless you all. Drive safely
kids. |
